The master blenders at Seagate have proved that they really turn on ideas by trapping perpendicular recording technique to increase drive data densities in its true sense. After introducing Cheetah 15K.5 series drives based on 15,000RPM platters Seagate is back with Barracuda 7200.10 series hard drives based on 7,200RPM spindles, as per the leaks trapped by dailytech.
A PDF, claimed to be published accidentally on Seagate’s website, gave detailed account of the upcoming perpendicular desktop hard drives that included two 750GB models - the Barracuda 7200.10 ST3750640A (PATA) and the ST3750640SA (SATA).
As per the insiders, the Barracuda 7200.10 series will feature 16MB and 8MB buffers. Whether the new drives will be able to combat the problem of Seek time information is yet to be seen.
